Alexandra Cabin

Completed in the fall of 2020, the Alexandra Cabin is the newest ski touring hut in Canada. It is in the spectacular Lyell Creek  9 km north of Icefall Lodge. Although some of the runs here had been skied occasionally from Icefall Lodge, it was only with a really strong group in perfect conditions. Construction of the cabin allows you to enjoy this big terrain for a full week. There are still many un-skied lines waiting for tracks.

It has not one but seven runs with over 2000m (6500 feet) vertical drop. From the cabin, you can ski to the summit of Alexandra, Oppy Farbus, Whiterose and the Lyells. This is some of the best big alpine ski touring you will find anywhere. It also has some great tree skiing right above the cabin for the snowy days; open chutes, pillows, tree skiing and open glades.

The Alexandra Cabin can be booked during the winter season with 8 guests for a guided catered trip. There is normally a guide, practicum and chef for staff. In the spring, it will be a stop for the 3rd night of the Icefall Traverse.

There are 8 guest beds on the upper floor of the cabin with separate sleeping accommodation for staff. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounging area around the woodstove.
